Our last 2 residencies took place in May 2025 and May 2026 at Cody Dock in Stratford, East London, each time welcoming 37 talented musicians of different ages, backgrounds, languages and instruments. Over 4 days they learnt traditional songs and tunes from each other, representing music from all over the globe. As well as creating a unique repertoire, we took the music to our local community in open workshops, hosted an open mic event, and played at the Brixton’s Hootananny, one of London’s top alt-music venues.

In May 2024 we ran a residency at Newham Music in Stratford, East London, welcoming 30 talented musicians of different ages, backgrounds, languages and instruments. As well as creating a unique repertoire, we took the music to our local community in open workshops, hosted an open mic event, and played a sold-out performance at the Jago in Dalston.

In March 2022, Flotsam held a week-long residency in Catford, bringing together a group of 30 musicians from across London and the globe, which culminated in a sold-out show at one of London’s top venues for world and roots music: Jago in Dalston.
