MOA NORRSELL FAHLANDER
Founder/Director

Moa is a singer, guitarist, mandolin & kora player, with a background in Ethnomusicology @ SOAS and MA Applied Anthropology & Community Arts @ Goldsmiths. She’s travelled across the world to play music, from Senegal to Sweden. She’s toured across Europe and UK with her band Yassassin + other projects. As well as running Flotsam Sessions. She’s a programme manager & creative practitioner at the Youth Charity Pie Factory Music.

MAYA MCCOURT
Founder/Director

Maya is a cellist, singer, teacher and part-time shaker enthusiast. She’s a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, and has a Masters Degree in Music in Development form SOAS in London. She has taken part in lots of community music projects across the world, and plays with her band Salt Moon. She works with the refugee charity Play for Progress, and is a project coordinator for JMI’s Ethno England, as well as running Flotsam Sessions.

GEORGE WASHBOURN
Project Coordinator

George is a multi-instrumentalist, singer & teacher. He’s had a litany of different jobs: secondary English teacher, writer, immigration advisor, translator, archivist. He writes and plays music in a number of groups, including Welsh Folk-Indie group River Wild, as well as performing his own material. He is also co-founder and coordinator of The Storyteller's Lab, a project in Northern Greece delivering collaborative music, writing, photography, videography workshops to residents of Katsikas Refugee Camp.
